Our Economy Web Design Package, allows you to get a professional looking website online, at an affordable price. It is the perfect choice for small businesses or individuals, who don't have a large budget for a website, but still require an online presence that looks professional.

Our Economy Web Design system is based around a transparent template that we have designed, that we will personally customise for you with your own logo, colour, images and content. This system makes getting a professional looking website online a very simple and affordable process, with no web design knowledge required.

We will also manage all the website hosting and domain registration services for you, making this a genuine one stop solution to getting a professional looking website online!

What do I need to get a website online?

In order to have a website online and accessible on the internet, you require three separate services, all of which we provide as part of our Economy Web Design Package. These services are the website design, website hosting, and domain name registration, as shown in the chart below.

The first component is the website design, which we setup for you and upload onto the servers. We handle all of this, you don't need to do anything apart from provide us with the content for the website.

Secondly you will require website hosting, which is where the website is stored on the internet. This allows your website to be visible on the internet. Our web hosting is Premium Quality, utilising fast reliable New Zealand based web servers. Web hosting is paid for either monthly, half yearly or annually.

Thirdly, you will require a domain name (eg www.yourdomainname.co.nz), which is what people type in you find your website on the internet. Domain names can also be used for your email addresses (eg. yourname@ourdomainname.co.nz). Domain registration is billed for annually.

All up, the annual cost of our single page web design and hosting plan, would be approximately $575 + GST for the first year. This includes the web design, web hosting and domain registration(.nz extension) fees. Successive years (based on current rates) will be just $285 + GST for the website hosting and annual domain name renewal.

In order to qualify for our Economy Web Design Package, all three services must be purchased through us. All three services and associated costs are described in more detail below.

Our standard economy web design package for $680 + GST includes:

Website consisting of up to 8 pages, including homepage, made using our transparent template system. This all designed and setup in New Zealand.
Upgrade to our enhanced web design plan for an additional $300 + GST and get up to an additional 12 pages.
Slideshow on homepage with up to five photos, built with Adobe Flash technology.
Email form with captcha system, to minimise amount of automated spam being sent through the form.
Insertion of website content and images, for up to 8 pages.
Insertion of keywords and meta data allowing search engines to index website.
Creation of a Favourite Icon (the small icon that appears in your address bar)

Please note that this live example website is not yet complete, and is still awaiting content from the client, however it gives you a basic idea of what the website will look like. The live example also include optional extras, not included in the basic economy web design package price. These extras include a photo gallery/slide show page, a panoramic photo viewer, , and a interactive google map. It also has an animated intro on the homepage slideshow, as well as additional photos which are non standard and not included in the economy web design price. All of these features can be added to your website at an additional price. A more comprehensive list of optional extras can be viewed below.

Our Single Page Web Hosting Plan ($20 + GST per month), includes:

Unlimited Website Traffic.
Up to 1MB Diskspace dedicated for your website, and up to 20MB Email Storage space (made up of 1 x 20MB email account)
Website Statistics (Webilizer). We can also setup Googles stats for an additional fee.
Single email account with 20MB storage, or email forwarder to any existing email address.
Hosted on Premium New Zealand based web servers, which are located in a world class data centre in Wellington, for fast website loading.

Our standard web hosting plan ($30 + GST per month), includes:

Unlimited Website Traffic.
Up to 20MB Diskspace dedicated for your website, and up to 100MB Email Storage space (made up of 5 x 20MB email accounts)
Website Statistics (Webilizer). We can also setup Googles stats for an additional fee.
Up to 5 email accounts (20MB storage for each) or email forwarders to any existing email address.
Hosted on Premium New Zealand based web servers, which are located in a world class data centre in Wellington, for fast website loading.


Or upgrade to our Premium Business Class web hosting plan ($45 + GST per month), which includes:

Unmetered Diskspace (Upload as much as you want to your website, within reason).

Domain Name Registration

Domain Name Registration costs from just $39.95 + GST per year:

In simple terms, a domain name is a familiar and easy to remember name, for the location of your website on the internet. It takes the form of www.yourdomainname.co.nz, and also allows you to use it for email addresses in the form of name@yourdomainname.co.nz. A domain name is an annual fee that is paid to the domain registrar, and gives you the exclusive right to use that domain name for your website and email for yourself or your company.

You are able to register a whole range of different domain name extensions for your website. You can view the different domain extensions, in our domain manager by clicking here. If you already have a domain name, don't worry, as we can transfer your domain name to our registrar.

If you don't already have a domain name for your business, we will register the domain name for you for our everyday low price, starting from just $39.95+GST per year. The Ordering Process

STEP 1: When you are ready to order, please fill in our order form by clicking here.

STEP 2: Once we have received your order, we will request further information from you, and we will send you contract documentation. If you choose to go ahead with your order, you will need to email / send to us, a Microsoft Word(or similar format) document containing all the text for each page of the new website. You will also email / send us all the images (in a digital format), such as your companies logo, and photos for the web pages. We can also scan in photos in hardcopy format for an additional fee.

STEP 3: You will send us payment 33% of the contract price. We will then book the job into our schedule.

STEP 4: We will then customise the website template with your logo and selected colours, and insert content onto the pages. The website will then be uploaded onto our NZ based web hosting servers and made live. You will then check everything is loading correctly, and request any minor changes. Once the website is completed, you will then send us the outstanding web design fees. During the construction, you will be able to preview the website online.

STEP 5: Once you are happy with the end result, the website is completed!

Frequently Asked Questions

I am ready to order, what do you need from me as the client to setup my website?

When you are ready to order, please fill in our order form by clicking here. We will then email you back. We will also provide you with a fixed quote and contract documentation, as well as information that we need. You can then choose to either accept this, or cancel the order.

Once you have accepted our quotation, you will then need to provide us with all the content for your website. You will be communicating with a real person at all times, not a computer, and the website will be hand built for you, rather than you manually having to enter the content online yourself. Website's are setup by New Zealanders in New Zealand, and are hosted on NZ based servers.

 

How much will it cost to have more pages on my website, when I order this website plan from you?

This will depend on the number of pages, and the content that you include in those pages. We will however give you a quote for the whole job.

 

Can I get more pages added at a later date?

Yes. Simple additions will be charged at our standard web design rate of $9.50 + GST per 6 minute unit of work. We bill in 6 minute intervals, so 1 hours worth of work works out to be $95 + GST.

 

Can I also get you to update the website for me in the future?

Yes, we can do all the updating of your website for you. All you need to do is send us through the changes you require to be made in an email or word document, and we will make the changes for you. Any updates to content will be charged at our standard web design rate of $9.50 + GST per 6 minute unit of work.

 

Where can I get professional photos from, to use on my website?

If you don't currently have any photos for your website, you can source affordable professional photos from any stock photo website. One website we recommend is iStockphoto, which is very affordable, and they also do videos too. Alternatively you can hire a photographer, or use existing photos that can be scanned in. If you have photos that need scanning, we can do this for you for an additional fee.

We need the size of photos for the homepage, to have a resolution of at least 1000 pixels width, to prevent image distortion. If you are buying from an online photo store, please make sure the photo are at least 1000 pixels wide, or more if you also plan to use the photos in future print advertising. Please email us if you need help in deciding what images you need.

 

If I get the website designed by you, do I also need to host it with you, and purchase the domain name from you?

Yes, our economy web design plan is a package, so we will also handle web hosting and domain registration for you. Therefore you will only be dealing with the single company, which makes things a lot easier for all parties. Not only that, you will be hosted on a premium quality hosting network based on New Zealand servers for fast website loading. This is a hosting network that we have been using since 2001, so unlike many web hosting companies on the internet, it has proven itself as a sustainable and reliable hosting platform. Please read our terms and conditions below for more information.

Can I have more than one domain name?

Yes, you can have as many domain names as you want. Each domain name will cost you from $39.95+gst per year.

 

I already have a domain name and website hosting with another provider?

This isn't a problem, we can easily transfer your domain name and hosting to our servers.

 

I want to retain my email account with my existing email provider?

This is possible. All you need to do is ask your email provider to end the DNS zone file, to point just the website traffic to our server. The email will then continue to work with your existing email provider.

 

Do you have a plan where I can edit the content on the web page myself online in real-time?

We do have various options for this, however this feature is not a standard feature of our economy web packages. Please email us for more information.

Economy Web Design Terms and Conditions:

(1) The website must be hosted on Design Lounge Ltd's web hosting service at all times, on either our Starter, Standard or our Business Class hosting plans. A minimum 12 month hosting contract applies, and after the 12 months is up the website remains hosted with Design Lounge Ltd for the life of the website. A early hosting termination fee of $199+GST applies if the hosting contract is terminated before the 12 month contract is up.
(2) The standard price of just $680+GST, will cover the web customisation and data entry, for up to 8 pages on the website. The quantity of words is restricted to what you would fit onto an average A4 page, which is approximately 500 words. Tables and complex text formatting may incur additional fees. The number of images on each page should not exceed 4 images. Additional pages, features and linking to PDF documents may be an additional fee. The standard price will also include uploading the the website, and making the website live.
(3) Additional work, and non standard customisation of the template, will be charged at our standard web design rate of $9.50 + GST per 6 minute unit of work.
(4) Website updates and website script and software updates (if required) will be charged at our standard web design rate of $9.50 + GST per 6 minute unit of work.
(5) The web design fee does not include website hosting or domain registration / renewal fees, which are additional fees. Web hosting is paid monthly, half yearly, or yearly. Domain registration / renewals are charged annually, and domains can be registered for up to 10 years in advance.
(6) The system will not include a Content Management System. If you would like to make alterations to your website, all you need to do is email these through to us, and we will do the updates for you. Updates will be performed at $9.50 + GST per 6 minute unit of work. If you require a Content Management System, or a way to update the website yourself, we can provide you with a quote to set this up. Additional software may be required to be purchased depending on your requirements.
(7) All communication will be done online via email only. No physical meeting is necessary.
(8) The copyright of the website template will remain that of Design Lounge Ltd.
(9) The copyright of the content inside the website, will remain that of the client.
(10) A 50% deposit of the web design fee is required prior to the commencement of the work. Full web design terms will be emailed to the client prior to commencement of the contract.
